In fact, Luna, the dog featured on the Care & Maintenance page, is a Diabetic Alert Service Dog. Service dogs are specifically trained to alert diabetic children in advance of low or high blood sugar levels before they become dangerous. That way their handlers can take steps to return their blood sugar to normal. We’ve partnered with 4 Paws For Ability, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to place quality service dogs with children with disabilities. Eternia is sponsoring a child in need to help them get their dog and to alleviate the costs for training and placement. Service Dogs can provide emotional security and a healthier, safer lifestyle for children and for their families.
